Aerial Photo 2014

Picture
Aerial photo taken on April 28, 2014, shows all the forest zones and many other features. The distinction between conifers and aspen/birch is vivid because leaves are down at the end of winter. Note that in 2014 the major beaver dams are on Beaver Creek where there is still abundant aspen to use for construction and food. Most dams on Tide Creek have washed out and aspen is too far from the creek to serve as a convenient source of wood. Small dams there are made mainly from willow. The ATV trail cut illegally from 2009 to 2012 is apparent. It crosses the entire property from West to East, one-half mile of destruction. Reforestation in Spring Meadow is evident.
